The Grown Up by Jordan Harrison

The Grown Up follows Kai, a fantasy writer navigating the time-bending events conjured by her grandfather's story of a magic doorknob and the eye of a mermaid. Are we moving forward through the milestones of Kai's life, or looking back through the blush of her memory and memoir?

Jordan Harrison's The Grown Up asks how we measure our lives and the passage of time? What can smooth the bumps and bruises of our lived experience? Where does memory sit in the realms of fantasy and reality? And what are the limits of our imagination?
